It is our great pleasure to announce that the World Spearfishing Championship 2010 will be held in Mali Lošinj.
The hosts of this renowned sporting event which will take place from the 14th to the 19th of September 2010 are SRD Škarpina Nerezine and SRD Udica Mali Lošinj, general sponsors are the city of Mali Lošinj and the Tourist Board and the event's chief sport sponsor is Mares - a company specialised in the manufacture and sale of diving equipment.
Mali Lošinj which was once named as 'The World Seat of Spearfishing' and has itself put forward many national representatives, is delighted to welcome the arrival of 23 national teams from all over the world. As long ago as 1957, Mali Lošinj was host to the European Championships, which were subsequently recognised as World Championships and also, since 1960, there is the traditional organisation of the New Year Spearfishing Trophy as well as the Inter - Town Trophy and the Nations Trophy.

10:00 am – start at the Punta Križa fishing zone
3:00 pm – end of fishing
3:15 pm – gathering at the starting position
3:30 – 4:00 pm – arrival at port centre
5:00 pm – fish weighing
8:00 – fishermen’s festival in Mali Lošinj
9:00 am – boarding the boats on Riva lošinjskih kapetana
10:00 am – start at the Unije fishing zone
3:00 pm – end of fishing
3:15 pm – gathering at the starting position
3:30 – 4:00 pm – arrival at port centre
5:00 pm – fish weighing
8:00 pm – pronouncement of winners followed by the closing ceremony
