IXS European Downhill Cup Lošinj 2023
Lošinj will host the opening of the IXS European Downhill Cup on the second weekend in April. This IXS series is in its sixteenth year of running and is the most important competition after the World Cup hosted by Lošinj in 2018.
The race is certified in the highest category of the UCI (Class 1) and will attract the best downhillers from all over the world.
Lošinj Island, the Croatian vacation paradise, offers probably the stoniest course with endless scree. It has already proven its suitability in the World Cup, and four years ago it enjoyed great approval among the riders due to its beautiful location, fantastic weather and enthusiastic fans.
The trail is 1300 m long with a height difference of 245m. After a short start section, there are some gaps that are not to be scoffed at and then the decisive, extremely stony and partly narrow section that extends to the outskirts of the small town of Veli Lošinj. Here follows an urban DH course with an almost dead-straight path down to the harbour in the town centre. There, the riders and spectators can expect what is probably the most beautiful finish of the season.
The race is free for all spectators!
