No one knows the winds, their moods, and their strengths, as well as the islanders do.
But this is no coincident. Islanders are always off at sea, feeling the "breath of the wind" and knowing the exact moment it will gust, just like the legendary Olympic sailor Tino Straulino. Straulino started sailing as a six-year-old around the small Lošinj bays, and in the 1950s, he went on to win an Olympic gold medal in the “Star” class. Straulino continued to win many races and World Championships throughout his nearly 90 years, further confirming that sailing is in the blood of every Lošinj person.
Lošinj is the right place for your children to learn the basics of sailing and to help them perfect their existing knowledge and skills, and what better way than to bring your children to our sailing school? While the school lasts five days for 2 and a half hours a day, you can also enjoy the option of individual lessons. The sailing course is held in the beautiful and well-protected Čikat cove and is intended for children aged 7 to 14. The lessons use the small and lightweight Optimist dinghy.
Let your child wash away the fear of the sea, help them learn how to "tame the wind," and allow them to feel this simple pleasure of freedom that fascinates the sailors of the world.
