The game of tennis first appeared in Lošinj in the late 19th-century, which is precisely why one part of Mali Lošinj is called Tenis (“Tennis“). As you might imagine, the first tennis courts have long since disappeared. However, many other outdoor tennis courts have been built since then next to the hotels at Sunčana cove (Aurora and Vespera hotels), Čikat (Bellevue Hotel) and Veli Lošinj (Punta Hotel).
These courts, which are made out of clay, are partially shaded due to the centuries-old pine trees, and several courts near the Punta Hotel are lit for evening play.
The courts and equipment can be rented throughout the year, and there are also tennis schools and private tennis lessons available for guests.
