Tennis
The game of tennis first appeared in Lošinj in the late 19th century, which is precisely why one part of Mali Lošinj is called Tenis ("Tennis"). As you might imagine, the first tennis courts have long since disappeared. However, many outdoor tennis courts have since been built next to the hotels in Sunčana Cove (Hotels Aurora and Vespera), Čikat Bay (Hotel Bellevue), and Veli Lošinj (Vitality Hotel Punta).
Most of the courts feature clay surfaces and are partially shaded by centuries-old pine trees, creating ideal playing conditions even during the warmer months. In addition to the clay courts, the tennis centre next to Vitality Hotel Punta also offers covered hard courts, providing excellent playing conditions throughout the year, regardless of the weather. Several outdoor courts are equipped with floodlights for evening play.
Guests can also take advantage of the Ljubičić Tennis Academy, founded by former ATP Top 3 player Ivan Ljubičić, located next to Vitality Hotel Punta. The academy offers tennis schools, private lessons, group programmes, and training sessions for players of all ages and skill levels.
The courts and equipment can be rented throughout the year, making it easy for both recreational players and experienced tennis enthusiasts to enjoy the game during their stay.
