PICTURESQUE VELI LOŠINJ

We recommend that you start your tour with a visit to the nearby town of Veli Lošinj. At the entrance to town's picturesque harbour stands the imposing parish Church of St. Anthony the Abbot. With its opulent baroque interior, the church is furnished with the gifts of famous sea captains from Veli Lošinj. You can find out more about them in the museum located in the beautiful circular Tower, the top of which offers a stunning view of the harbour and the former Captain’s palace, surrounded by beautiful gardens.

COSMOPOLITAN MALI LOŠINJ

You can continue your tour in Mali Lošinj, one of the most significant island towns in the Adriatic today. Situated at the bottom of a magnificent cove, Mali Lošinj has two waterfronts that give it an unusual width. The observation deck located at the top of the Museum of Apoxyomenos offers the best views of the harbour, while the museum itself is a must-see location for everyone who enjoys antiquities and exceptional art. The central exhibit of this impressively designed museum is a giant bronze statue of a young Greek athlete ‘Apoxyomenos’, uniquely preserved and alluring. The figure was discovered in 1996 at the bottom of the Lošinj sea. If you love art, make sure to visit the nearby Lošinj Museum and enjoy the Piperata and Mihičić art collections.

ANCIENT OSOR

It would be impossible to really know the local heritage of the island without paying a visit to Osor, the ancient capital of the Cres-Lošinj islands. Founded over 3,000 years ago, Osor was once a significant trading town back in the Roman times thanks to the human-made channel constructed between the islands of Cres and Lošinj. The best way to learn about its turbulent history is by visiting the Osor Archaeological Collection which dates back to 1889. Our guides will gladly accompany you for a walk through this exquisite town-monument.
