Boutique Hotel Alhambra partners with Saints Hills winery for exclusive wine event
Leading oenologist Michel Rolland to host wine masterclass and pairing dinner at historic Croatian hotel’s signature Restaurant Alfred Keller on 20 June 2020
Gourmet hideaway and Small Luxury Hotels of the World member Boutique Hotel Alhambra & Villa Augusta, located on the Croatian island gem of Lošinj, has announced an exclusive gastronomic celebration to mark the decade-long partnership between renowned Dalmatian winery, Saints Hills, and world-leading oenologist Michel Rolland. Taking place at the hotel’s Restaurant Alfred Keller on 20 June 2020, and hosted by Rolland himself, the gala evening will showcase some of Saints Hills’ finest large-format bottles via a wine masterclass and pairing dinner, with pride of place going to the region’s indigenous Dingač and Plavac Mali wines.
Restaurant Alfred Keller’s talented executive chef Thomas Brasleret has crafted a special five-course menu for the occasion; a celebration of the region’s finest ingredients, elevated by Rolland’s handpicked selection from Saints Hills’ cellars. After an aperitif of Saints Hills Rosé 2018, the pairing dinner begins with an entrée of foie gras, sour cherry and rosemary, accompanied by Saints Hills Posh 2018. A chicken consommé with shrimps and turnip will be served with Nevina 2017, followed by monkfish, spinach and hazelnuts, complemented by Le Chifre 2018. A main course of beef, mushrooms and polenta is augmented by both the Sv Roko 2013 and Dingac 2011, before a dessert of white chocolate and peach is paired with Saints Hills’ Prošek.
Following last year’s oenological masterclass collaborations with Iločki Podrumi and Château Lafite Rothschild, the Saints Hills anniversary event marks a continuation of Boutique Hotel Alhambra & Villa Augusta’s tradition of gala wine evenings.
